A Day of Keeping the Tri-Cities Warm – Adventures of an HVAC Tech

6:00 AM – Rise and Shine

My day at Young’s Heating & Cooling starts early. After checking my work tablet for the day’s service schedule, I load up my truck with essential parts and tools. Today’s route will take me through College Place and Walla Walla before heading to the Tri-Cities area.

7:30 AM – First Call

The morning begins with a furnace repair in College Place. An elderly couple’s heating system stopped working overnight. After a thorough inspection, I identify a faulty ignitor – a common issue during the cold season. Within an hour, their home is warming up again.

10:00 AM – Emergency Response

While heading to a scheduled maintenance in Kennewick, I receive an urgent call about an electrical issue in Pasco. A family’s heating system is showing signs of electrical problems. Safety first – I ensure the system is completely powered down before diagnosing and repairing the wiring issue.

Key Tasks Today:

  • Furnace replacement consultation in Richland
  • Heating system maintenance in West Richland
  • Two emergency repair calls in Walla Walla
  • Parts inventory check and restock

4:30 PM – Wrapping Up

As the day winds down, I complete my service reports and prepare for tomorrow. Every day brings different challenges, but keeping our community warm and comfortable makes it all worthwhile.

5:00 PM – Planning Ahead

Before heading home, I review tomorrow’s schedule and ensure my truck is stocked for another day of serving our valued customers throughout the Eastern Washington region.

The best part of working at Young’s Heating & Cooling? Knowing that each day brings opportunities to help our neighbors stay comfortable in their homes and businesses, no matter the weather outside.
