Rise and Shine: The Early Bird Gets the Cool Air
As a technician for Mr. Chill Heating & Air, my day starts bright and early. I’m up at 6 AM, grabbing a quick breakfast and my trusty toolbox before heading out to our first call of the day. Today’s focus: servicing manufactured homes in our local community.
8:00 AM: First Stop – Routine Maintenance
Our first customer lives in a cozy manufactured home on the outskirts of town. They’ve scheduled a routine maintenance check for their HVAC system. These regular check-ups are crucial for keeping systems running efficiently, especially in manufactured homes where space can be at a premium.
Tasks typically include:
- Inspecting ductwork for leaks
- Cleaning or replacing air filters
- Checking refrigerant levels
- Lubricating moving parts
10:30 AM: Emergency Call – No Cool Air
Just as we’re wrapping up our first job, we get an urgent call from another manufactured home resident. Their air conditioning has stopped working on one of the hottest days of the year. We rush over to assess the situation.
After a thorough inspection, we discover a faulty capacitor. Luckily, we have the part on hand and can replace it immediately. The homeowner is relieved to feel the cool air flowing again.
1:00 PM: Lunch Break and Team Meeting
Back at the Mr. Chill office, we have a quick team meeting over lunch. We discuss the unique challenges of servicing HVAC systems in manufactured homes and share tips on improving our efficiency.
2:30 PM: Educating Homeowners
Our afternoon appointment is with a new manufactured home owner who wants to learn more about maintaining their HVAC system. We spend time explaining the importance of regular maintenance, energy-efficient practices, and signs that might indicate a need for professional service.
4:30 PM: Wrapping Up the Day
As the day winds down, we handle some paperwork and prepare for tomorrow’s schedule. Working with Mr. Chill Heating & Air to keep manufactured homes comfortable is always rewarding, knowing we’re helping families stay cool in summer and warm in winter.
Before heading home, I make sure my truck is stocked and ready for another day of keeping our community chill!
